HOW DO I GET HELP FOR MYSELF OR SOMEONE I KNOW?
You can get help by contacting one or more of the following professionals:
Make an appointment with someone close by in your area. These professionals are aware of SAFE and are trained to support you in getting the understanding and help that you need to move forward. Individuals are referred to SAFE from the Courts, Community Probation Services, Child Youth & Family Services (CYFS), family members, friends, the person with the sexually harmful behavior, or other professionals within the community. It is important for you to note that, where CYFS does not know about the referral to SAFE, and the person concerned has committed sexually harmful behavior toward a child still aged less than 17 years old or is still in contact with young children, SAFE will usually want CYFS to be involved to check that the children are safe. If this occurs we are committed to working with you, the person/s involved, and CYFS to ensure that the safest outcome is reached for all concerned.
