Kia Marama

Kia Marama was established in 1989 as New Zealand’s first specialist prison treatment programme for child sex offenders.

Te Piriti

The Te Piriti Special Treatment unit, based at Auckland Prison, is a 60 bed special treatment unit for child sex offenders.

Auckland Sexual Abuse HELP is a community-counselling agency in Mount Eden offering support and therapy for women, young adult women and children who have experienced sexual assault. We provide a 24-hour crisis support and advocacy service; a confidential telephone information, referral and counselling service; in person counselling services; and prevention programme for pre-schoolers in the Auckland area.

Rape Prevention Education is a part of Whakatu Mauri/Rape Crisis Auckland. Rape Prevention Education works to support survivors of sexual violence and their whanau. Another of our objectives is to eliminate rape and sexual abuse through education and community work.  Rape Prevention Education offers support to male and female survivors of rape and sexual abuse. We offer a phone service offering crisis intervention, support and a referral service to callers.

Child, Youth and Family are a service of the Ministry of Social Development, and are part of a network of agencies aiming to build an environment where child abuse is not tolerated.

The Ministry of Health supports treatment for intellectually disabled individuals with sexually problematic and/or sexually harmful behaviour under the auspices of the Disability Support Services (DSS).
Many of the services DSS funds are accessed through a Needs Assessment and Service Co-ordination (NASC) service. NASCs are organisations contracted to the DSS, which work with disabled people to help identify their needs and to outline what disability support services are available. They allocate Ministry-funded support services and assist with accessing other supports.
