Chief Executive Officer (Interim and Permanent Positions)

Providing essential community based professional services with the goal of ensuring a safe environment for our children, SAFE Network operates the largest community based treatment programme in New Zealand for both adult and youth sex offenders.  Delivering a remarkable success rate this organisation has experienced sustained growth over the past ten years and now operates from three centres in the Upper North Island.

This position will provide exceptional leadership to a talented and well qualified team of Clinical Managers, Team Leaders and Therapists to drive organisational development and further enhance programme efficiencies. Reporting to the Board, the CEO must have senior leadership experience with exposure to financial, strategic, human resources, planning and operational aspects of management. Developing a sustainable portfolio of the organisation’s services and activities, and managing key relationships with government agencies and funding providers are vital to this role.

Vital to your success is a solid cross cultural understanding, with an inclusive non-judgemental way of working with people. Tertiary qualification is preferred as is clinical training in a relevant discipline.

Psychologist/Therapist

30 hours per week

SAFE Network provides community based treatment programmes for adult sexual offenders, and for young people with problematic sexualised behaviours in Northland, Auckland and Waikato. We are looking for a therapist to join the adult programme team in Auckland.

The successful applicant will be part of a small and supportive team which provides a comprehensive treatment service to adults who have sexually offended against minors. The treatment programme consists of assessment, individual and group therapy, and family support work.

The successful applicant will have a therapeutic qualification and experience, with NZ registration, or eligibility for registration. An awareness of the issues involved in working with child sexual abuse is essential. Experience in working with children or adolescents with Complex Needs would be an advantage. An awareness of how these issues affect Maori and Pasifika clients and families would also be useful.

Opportunities are provided for ongoing training and development, research and linking with colleagues in similar programmes both nationally and internationally. There are opportunities to participate in the delivery of education and training programmes to the community and to other professionals. The position will suit competent practitioners who have a passion to expand their skills within a specialised and valuable area of work. SAFE Network is a community-based treatment programme for adult sexual offenders, and adolescents with problematic sexualised behaviours and we are seeking two experienced Kaimahi Maori Therapists to join our Auckland team:
-  one Rangatahi programme position
- and one Tane programme position.

The successful applicants will have a qualification as a Counsellor, Psychologist, Psychotherapist, Social Worker, or Family Therapist.  An awareness of the issues involved in working with child sexual abuse is essential.  Experience in working with adults and adolescents with Complex Needs would be an advantage. An awareness of how the issues of sexual abuse and offending affect Maori and whanau is desirable.

Opportunities exist for further learning and research and for the development of links with colleagues in similar programmes both nationally and internationally.

The position will suit practitioners who wish to expand their therapeutic skills into this specialised and important area of work.
